Memorial service will be held for Doris Irene Mozingo on Saturday, February 24th, 11:00 a.m., at the Grace Community Church, 1544 7th St., Wasco. Interment will follow at the Wasco Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday, February 23rd, 2-80 p.m., at the Peters Funeral Home, 7th Street, Wasco. Doris was born on June 15, 1939, in Bakersfield to DC and Addie Crawford of Wasco, CA. She was a 1957 graduate of Wasco High, married J.R. Mozingo on Jun 16, 1957 and made their home in Wasco for 26 years until he preceded her in death in 1984. Doris married David Perez in Sept 1989 until he preceded her in death in 1996. Doris was a homemaker of 50 years, a Volunteer for Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts, 4-H, Little League, Church, School Aid, Lifetime PTA Member, and FFA Booster. She will be remembered for her generosity, vibrant spirit, being an adventuress traveler, always being on the dance floor, and her love for her family and friends. Our Mom is survived by her husband of three years, AJ Cohen; her two brothers, Emery Crawford of Wasco, David Crawford and wife, May of Porter, OK; her three sons, Richard Mozingo and fiancée, Ludi Landois of Wasco, Rodney Mozingo and wife, Kathy of Wasco, Randy Mozingo and wife, Terri of Wasco; her one daughter, Stacy Mozingo and fiancé, Bobby Caton of Bakersfield; stepson, David Perez and wife, Valerie of Bakersfield; stepdaughter, Yvette Perez Ornelas and husband of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also preceding her in death are her parents, and sisters, Vada Bowles and Ina Crawford.
