Laura Frances Franklin Humphries, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 7, 1930, in Cross Anchor, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Redmond Franklin and Eula Parham Franklin and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A member of Drayton Baptist Church, Mrs. Humphries loved her family, enjoyed cooking for them, and also valued sharing her Christian testimony.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bryson Humphries Jr.; children, Sandra Snelgrove (Frank), Susan Walker (Roger), Alma Tuck (Ken), Johnny Humphries, and David Humphries, all of Upstate South Carolina; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Eva Dell Layton; and brothers, John Franklin and Wayne Franklin.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon – 1:30 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Randall Blackman and the Rev. Dr. Todd Lowe.
