UNION -- Eva Dell Franklin Layton, 74, of 126 Locust St. died Feb. 3, 2000, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
A native of Cross Anchor, she was daughter of the late John R. and Eula Parham Franklin. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, C.H. Layton; a daughter, Gina Phelps of Burbank, Calif.; a sister, Laura Humphries of Spartanburg; two brothers, John J. Franklin of Cross Anchor and William Wayne Franklin of Enoree; and two grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home in Union. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Barry Ellis and Dr. Joe Bridges. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Anchor. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
