Kenneth Lee J. Jarrell, 91, son of the late Elijah Monroe "Lige" & Bessie Belle Hopkins Jarrell was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on May 24, 1925 and passed away near Dexter, Missouri on April 19, 2017.

Kenneth served his country in the US Army during World War II spending his time in Japan.

Kenneth Lee J. Jarrell married Dorothy Fay Black Kersey on May 12, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. Dorothy had two sons, Edward Lee Kersey & Robert Wayne Kersey whom Kenneth helped to raise. Kenneth & Dorothy had two children, Loretta Fay & Terry Michael Jarrell.

Kenneth Lee J. Jarrell & Keitha May Davis VanderHeyden married on April 4, 1970 at Dexter, Missouri. Keitha had three daughters, Nancy, Diane & Stacy VanderHeyden whom Kenneth helped to raise.

Kenneth had several jobs before he owned & operated Jarrell Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Electrical Service from which he retired in 2005.

Kenneth raised a large garden and shared his vegetables with others and he raised chickens and shared the eggs with others as well.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Loretta Fay Jarrell Mitchell of Little Rock, Arkansas, son, Terry Michael (Robin) Jarrell of Glendale, Arizona, sons, Edward Lee Kersey of Springfield, Missouri & Robert Wayne (Sylvia) Kersey of Dexter, Missouri, daughters Nancy VanderHeyden Campbell of St. Louis, Missouri, Diane (Kevin) McKinnis of Fair Grove, Missouri & Stacy (Jim) Schrader of Jacksonville, Florida; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann (James) Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan; a special niece and caregiver, Jennette Jarrell Davis, Dexter, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends survive.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Lige & Bessie Hopkins Jarrell; his wife, Keith May Jarrell brothers, Kiplin Boyd Jarrell, Infant brother Jarrell, Carl Otto Jarrell; sisters, Frances Doris Jarrell Carr & Edna Faye Jarrell Strouts.

Visitation was held on April 24, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services was April 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Watkins & Sons Chapel, Dexter, Missouri.

Military Rights & burial were held at the Lick Creek Cemetery, Bloomfield, Missouri.
