Carl Otto Jarrell, the son of the late Elijah Monroe (Lige)and Bessie Belle Hopkins Jarrell, was born in Bloomfield, MO on February 27, 1929, and passed away at his home near Dexter, MO on October 27, 2006, at the age of 77 years and 8 months.
Mr. Jarrell had lived in Dexter, MO all his life.
He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea.
On October 17, 1953, he was married to Virginia Ferguson.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Jarrell of Dexter, MO; three sons, Richard Boyd (& Karen) Jarrell of Lawton, OK, Gordon Wayne Jarrell and Scotty Lee Jarrell both of Dexter, MO; one daughter, Jennette Yvonne Davis of Dexter, MO; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter, MO; and one sister, Ruth Ann Ricketts of Walhalla, MI. Other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one in infancy and Kiplin Boyd Jarrell, two sisters, Faye Strouts and Frances Carr.
Funeral services are October 30, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, MO with the American Legion Chaplain, Herb Zaricor of Poplar Bluff, MO, David Hasse of Watervliet, MI, and Keith Meyers of Dexter, MO officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, MO in charge of arrangements. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team.
