Dorothy E. Bowen, 86, of West Branch, passed away March 29, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 235 South 2nd St., West Branch, Iowa.

Dorothy Ethel Bowen was born on February 23, 1931, to Melville W. Finlayson and Marian S. Finlayson in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was united in marriage with Roger B. Bowen on October 2, 1951 in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was a retail clerk, business owner, and a homemaker, during her lifetime. She enjoyed reading, camping, and canoeing.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, daughter, Jane S Knipper (Rick), sons, John R. Bowen (Mindy), Scott D. Bowen, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Melville and Marian Finlayson, brothers Donald Finlayson, J. Douglas Finlayson, and sisters Marion McKee, J. Connie Watson and C. Patricia Schmidt.
