WILLARD FINCH
Willard was the son of Catherine (Wolfe) and Pettis Finch. He was born and raised in Mercer County where his family was engaged in farming. According to the U.S., Appointments of U. S. Postmasters records for 1893-1930; on Dec 8,1896 Willard was appointed as the postmaster to the Office in Arpee, Mercer County, Illinois.

On Oct 18, 1911 Willard married Estelle "Stella" Wirthlin, daughter of Laura B (Wood) and Thaddeus Wirthlin. I found their marriage record for Morrow County, Ohio but after their marriage they lived in New Boston where Stella was a School Teacher and Willard was a Flour and Feed Merchant. As far as I can tell, no children were born to this marriage.

I couldn't find a death record for Willard but the last time he shows up in a Census record is 1920. He is 53 years old, working on his own account and living on 4th street in New Boston with his 50 year old wife Stella. Also living with them is Stella's widowed father, 77 year old Thaddeus Wirthlin.

Thaddeus died in 1928 and Willard must have passed away sometime around there as well because in the 1930 census Stella is listed as living alone, widowed, still teaching school in New Boston.
