Mrs. Sarah Jane Stillman Succumbs at Age 91, Was Known All Over the County
Mrs. Sarah Jane Stillman, age 91, widow of the late J. W. Stillman, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Luther Alexander, on Saturday night, Feb. 20th.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. E. Carter with burial in the cemetery at Concord Church. Pryor Funeral Home directed the funeral.
Mrs. Stillman was one of the county's oldest citizens. She was widely known and highly respected. The Stillman family has been closely connected with the county's history since its organization in 1852, and its men and women have been identified with all movements for the advancement of morality, good citizenship, better schools, better churches and greater social development.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Luther Alexander, she is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Leona Vanlandingham of Eupora, Mrs. Mattie Edwards of Pittsboro, W. M. Stillman of Luxora, Ark and G. L. Stillman of Derma.
She was the daughter of Nathaniel Jonathan Weaver and Elizabeth S. Isom.
