Ozro E. Sheets Dies At Age 87
Ozro Ellsworth Sheets, 87, of Bluffton Route 3 died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Clinic Hospital, where he had been a patient the last seven weeks. Death followed an illness of several years.

A son of Michael and Mary Boyer Sheets, he was born Feb. 8, 1887 in Liberty Twp., Wells County.

His marriage Dec. 22, 1906 was to Catherine I. Mossburg, who survives.

A member of the Prairie United Methodist Church, he was a retired farmer. He was a brother of Grover Sheets, the first soldier killed from Wells County during World War I and for whom the Bluffton American Legion Post bears its name.

Surviving, in addition to the wife, are two sons, Ernest of Jonesboro and Noel of Tri-Lakes, Columbia City; four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ina) Montz and Mrs. Albert (Doris) Christoffel, both of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Schurr and Mrs. Helen Sprowl, both of Bluffton.

Also surviving, are two brothers, Homer of Bluffton and Boyd of Bluffton Route 1; 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, where services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Kaye Bass will officiate and burial will be in Mossburg Cemetery.
