Dorothy C. Schurr 92 of Bluffton passed away at 2:38 p.m. on Wednesday, June 01, 2016, at Signature Health & Rehab Center in Bluffton.
Dorothy was born on May 19, 1924 in Bluffton to Ozro & Catherine (Mossburg) Sheets. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1942. She worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne prior to marriage and enjoyed being a full time homemaker raising her family. She was a member of the Bluffton Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
On November 4, 1944, Dorothy and Robert A. Schurr were married. They shared 69 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on December 11, 2013.
Survivors include children: Jerry Schurr of Wells County, Patricia Hamilton of Houghton Lake, MI, Fred Schurr of Bluffton, Thomas (Linda) Schurr of Ossian, Pamela Adams of North Carolina, Robert A Schurr, Jr. of Bluffton along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, John Schurr, in 1984, along with seven siblings.
There will be no service at this time. A memorial service will take place at a later date at the church. Memorials may be made to the Bluffton Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
