Obituary
Robert "Bob" L. Voiles ended his battle with cancer on February 25, 2016 in Eldred, IL at the age of 59. He leaves behind his wife, Deb (Walters) Voiles; his daughters, Leanne (Drew) Newton and Ashley (Kyle) Starks; and his son, Tristen Voiles (Amanda Dey) and his niece whom he loved like a daughter Sara Voiles.
Bob was born on July 31, 1956, in Alton, IL, to father William Voiles of Eldred, IL and mother Mary (Best) Voiles, who preceded him in death. Bob married his teenage sweetheart Deb Voiles on April 8, 1978. Bob was a devoted husband and father with a love of collecting just about anything. When diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in 2015, he remained dedicated to his family and in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, happy go lucky and oh so entertaining man, even through his final moments.
Bob is survived by his wife and children, as well as his grandchildren: Ajay and Collins Newton, Reed Starks and Jon Meza; father William Voiles; step mother Anna Marie Voiles; brothers, Dan and Allen Voiles; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; his Brother, Jon Voiles; and his son Robert L. Voiles, Jr., who died in infancy.
Bob requested to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Monday February 29, 2016 at the Eldred Baptist Church from 5-7pm with a service to follow; all are welcome. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 7pm at Thirsty's in Eldred, IL. The family would especially like to thank Jeanne Bone, Dan Richey and Mary Shaw, Shannon Gill and Pam Hartley.
