Bernice Lorine Erickson, daughter of Hjalmer and Jennie (Hoogas) Erickson, was born November 29, 1923 on a farm east of Toronto, SD.. She attended school there and helped raise her ten brothers and sisters until leaving home at age 18.

Bernice was united in marriage with Ernest Thompson on August 21, 1943 in Canton, SD. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD.

Bernice found Christ at an early age, nearly losing a leg and dying from an illness. She found the Healer and taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to always trust in the Lord. She had favorite scriptures, but mostly will be remembered by always saying, “God took care of me yesterday, He will take care of me today. It’s in God’s Hands”. She also taught her family to “plead the blood of Jesus- always trust the Lord”. She will be missed but never forgotten. Bless you, Mom- congratulations on your Graduation Day. Only one life shall pass- Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Barbara Davis, Sioux Falls, SD, Sandra Kracke, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Larry Davis and his wife, Sara, Minneapolis, MN, Christopher Davis and his wife, Michelle, Sioux Falls, SD, Tylynn Klune and her husband, Patrick, Sioux Falls, SD, Eddie Davis and his wife, Jean, Sioux Falls, SD; ten great-grandchildren, Brittney Davis, Alecia Davis, Zachary Davis, Brianna Davis, Braden Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Leslie Davis, Cody Davis, Connor Davis, Raquel Mellegaard; three sisters, Betty Lambert and her husband, Bert, Los Angeles, CA, Janice Madden, Las Vegas, NV, Diane Milbauer and her husband, Bob, Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
