Nicholas Baker was born in 1850 and departed this life in Antioch, Illinois, Sept. 8, 1927. He was 4 years old when he came to America with his parents and settled in Plank Twp,, where he grew to manhood. On Sept. 2, 1872, he was married to Miss Emma Justin who lives and mourns the loss of a kind husband. To this union 6 children were born, Milo Baker of San Diego, Ca., Mrs Vera (?) Cook of Chicago, and Mrs. Rose Jeard of Antioch, Illinois. Three children are deceased. Seven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services at St. Elizabeth Church, Harper, Iowa.

When living in Harper, Mr,. Baker was in the hotel and livery business.

Mrs. Nic Baker left Monday to see her father, Jacob Justin, who is sick at Columbus, Nebraska.

Mrs. Nic Baker's father, Jacob Justin, died Dec. 21,.1905 at Columbus, Nebraska. The remains will be shipped to Harper. Funeral at Catholic Church. One other daughter, Mary Lenfield of Fredricksburg, attended the funeral.
