"Mary A. Ames, widow of the late Julius Ames died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Emma H. Herrick Sunday morning aged eighty-one years. Funeral services will take place from St. Mary's Church Wednesday morning. She is survived by five sons and two daughters, William, Frances, Arthur, Sylvester and Amos, Mrs. Herrick and Mrs. D.C. Flynn."
Unfortunately Mary's original grave site has been lost. She was interred at the old St. Mary's Cemetery on Judson Street in Canton, N.Y., which now only has a central memorial plaque for everyone ever buried there. We know by information in her death certificate that her father's name was Patrick. In Patrick's will his wife is named as Margaret.
