MRS. PETER BELL DIED IN DES MOINES
Mrs. Peter Bell, aged colored woman, who will be remembered by many Dallas county people, died at the home of a daughter in Des Moines Monday according to phone messages received by friends here. Funeral services were held today and burial made beside the body of her husband at Linden. Mrs. Bell has been an invalid for about two years. She is survived by several grown children, among them Turner Bell, prominent lawyer at Leavenworth, Kansas, and Alice Bell, who made her home in Adel for many years.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Peter Bell, wife of the later Mr. Peter Bell, who died in Garner, Iowa, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. A. Ashford, April 13, was brought back to her home in Des Moines, where funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday, April 17. Mrs. Bell has been in poor health for a number of years, not being able to leave her room. She was born in Corinth, Miss., Dec. 25, 1831 and married at an early age to Mr. Bell in Corinth, Miss. She came to the state of Iowa with her husband and settled on a farm near Linden. Eighteen (17 ??) children were born to this union. Nine survive her, all but four being born on the Adel farm home in Dallas County. Nine children preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss Mr. Salem Bell, Adel, Iowa; Attorney T. W. Bell, Leavenworth, Kansas; Mr. Hayes Bell, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Josephine Franklin, Des Moines; Mr. Theodore Bell, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Genevieve Ashford, Garner, Iowa; Mrs. Gertrude Harris, Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Jessye Davis, Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Moss, Des Moines; Mrs. Josephine Virden, New York City, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, ten nieces and three nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Bell was a member of the United Presbyterian church of which she was a faithful member for many years until her health failed. Until the time of Mr. Bell's death 14 years ago, they had spent 68 years of happy married life. Mrs. Bell moved to Des Moines from the farm 25 years ago and lived at 1340 Jefferson Ave. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robinson at Corinthian Baptist church, assisted by Rev. Williams, Rev. S. Bates and Rev. L. Lucas. Mrs. Pearl Thompson, one of her dear young friends, who had spent many happy hours with her, sang "The Unclouded Day."
