Mr. Arnold was born on January 18, 1925 in Howard, to the late Jonathan and Virginia (Gardner) Arnold. Ben was a 1943 graduate of Howard High School. He was employed by Grassbaugh Hatchery, and Brock Grain and Feed Bins. He was a member Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus, Council 910, Danville. Ben was also an Army Veteran of W.W.II. He enjoyed farming, attending sporting events, horse racing and was known for his famous barbeque chicken.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne (Jim) Peterson of Marion, grandsons, James, Justin, and Jason Peterson of Marion; brothers, Arthur (Mary G.) Arnold of Mount Vernon, Charles (Catherine) Arnold of Powell and James (Diane) Arnold of Mount Vernon; sisters, Ruth Ann Hartman of Rochester, NY, Lucille Meyer of Mount Vernon, and Mary Koss of Stevensville, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dwight "Curly", Edward, and Donald Arnold; brothers-in-law, Walter Koss, Chuck Meyer, and Thomas Hartman.

Age 81 years.
