START (Special) — Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today for Garrett Sullivan, 73, who died Saturday in Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop after a long illness.

The Revs. Willie Woodard, E. L. Hayes and L. E. Traxler officiated at services in Start Baptist Church and burial under direction of Mulhearn's Funeral Home in Rayville, was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.

A native of Ouachita Parish, he was a member of Start Baptist Church, was active in civic and community affairs, and served as president of Start High School Parent-Teachers Association.

In addition to his widow, Mrs. Lillie Sullivan, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Monroe, Mrs. Beatrice Hogan of Farmerville, Mrs. Elvie McGee and Mrs. Annie Porter of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Frances Kirkley of Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mrs. Gladys Van Den Kooy of Canoga Park, Calif.; four sons, H. G. Sullivan of West Monroe, Ivy Sullivan Sr., of Start, James and John L. Sullivan of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Lannie Sullivan of Start and Hardy Sullivan of West Monroe.

Pallbearers included Gary Sullivan, Ivy Sullivan Jr., Kenneth Wayne Sullivan, Michael Wayne Sullivan, Larry McGee, Roy McGee, Steve Porter and Allen Hogan.
