Evelyn A. Schmid, daughter of Mary and Nathan E. Graves, was born Dec. 4, 1893, at Battle Creek, Nebr.
She married Louis F. Schmid Jan. 12, 1915, at Tilden, Nebr. To this union six children were born.
She was affiliated with St. Joseph's church of Earling ever since moving to Iowa from Nebraska in 1947.
She died Sept. 9, 1966 at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, Ia.
She is survived by six children, Angela, Mrs. Cyril Gaul, Earling; Regina Schmid, Omaha; Joseph L. Schmid, Woodland Hills, Calif.: Mary, Mrs. Nyle Schelle, Breda, Ia.; Jerome E. Schmid, Santa Monica, Calif.; Ramona, Mrs. Don Kaufman, Portsmouth; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Graves, Tilden, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Edens, Norfolk, Nebr.; and Helen, Mrs. Chester Hawkins of Tilden, Nebr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Schmid; brothers, Ralph Graves, Julius Graves, and Earl Graves; sister, Julia Vigt and Dorothy Graves.
Funeral services were held Sept. 12, 1966 at St. Joseph's church, Earling with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. A. Bisson, Celebrant officiating at the Requiem High Mass.
Pallbearers were Roman Gaul, Al Kenkel, Barney Zimmerman, Leo Graves, LeRoy Wilwerding, and Harry Graves. Burial was at St. Joseph's cemetery in Earling, Ia.
