Funeral Services Held For Elmer Graves

Funeral services for Elmer B. Graves were held on October 18, 1982 from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Tilden with Father Clifford Stevens and Father Paul Legare, OSB, officiating.

Organist was Mrs. James Brown, Jr, and the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art"

Pallbearers were Arnold Michealson, John Young, Floyd Jones, Emil Dolesh, Leo Dittrich and Bill Brozek. Interment was at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Norfolk.

Elmer B. Graves, the son of Nathan Graves and Mary (Dittrich) Graves was born at Pierce, Nebraska on July 3, 1902. He was educated at Tilden and attended Norfolk Business College.

On February 6, 1924 he was married to Faye Viola Phifer at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple farmed north of Tilden until retiring and moving to Norfolk in 1969 where he was a member of the sacred Heart Parish.

Elmer died at Our lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk on October 14, 1982 at the age of 80 years.

He leaves to survive his two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Jean) Kauno of Aberdeen, Washington, and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Thomas of Norfolk' 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren/ and 2 sisters, Mrs. Irene Edens of Norfolk and Mr.s Chester (Hellen) Hawkins of Tilden.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 4, 1979, 1 son, Dale; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
