LEE—BOYD--Married at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening, May 9, 1900 by Rev. Scoles of Cedar, Mr. A. N. Lee and Miss Nellie Boyd.

The Fremont Gazette says of the happy event: “The wedding was at the home of the bride’s parents, one and one-half miles southeast of Cedar. The house was elegantly decorated and arranged for the occasion. The bride was dressed in a lovely white costume and wore bride’s roses. The ceremony was beautifully performed and most impressive.

Miss Nellie Boyd is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Boyd, one of the leading families of Cedar. She is a beautiful and accomplished lady; a graduate of the Kirkville High School and is highest accomplished in music. A. N. Lee is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Lee of Fremont. He has been engaged in farming for several years and has been quite successful. He has the respect and confidence of a large acquaintance of people in this locality where he has lived since childhood.

The wedding guests, numbering a hundred, were seated during the evening to a magnificent spread. The bride and groom received a large number of elegant gifts from friends. A reception was held Thursday at the home of the groom’s parents in Fremont. Guests numbering a hundred were in attendance and an elegant dinner was served.

The newly married couple will be at home on their farm south of Fremont after May 15. The wedding was the nicest to occur in this locality for many years, and is the union of two highly respected families and as fine young people as can be found. They have the best wishes of hosts of friends.”
