Mrs. Myers was born in New Chester on March 30, 1920, daughter of the late Luther and Naomi (Shanebrook) Decker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Wolf's ECC, York.
Jean loved spending time with her family, yard sales, antiquing, traveling, casinos and cooking. She and her husband owned and operated the Myers Rabbitory, buying and selling rabbits.
Survivors include two children, Patsy J. Smith and her husband, Jeffrey of York, and Ronald E. Myers and his wife, Glenda of Bradenton,Fla.; four grandchildren, Danita R. Belcher, Andrew E. Myers, Matthew J. Smith, and Amanda J. Koontz; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Shirley Kulynych of Thomasville, Elsie Kepner of New Oxford, and Charles "Bud" Decker of Brushtown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at the St. Paul's Wolf's ECC, 4501 Wolf's Church Rd., York. Officiating will be Darryl MacPherson. Final resting place will be in St. Paul's Wolf's Church Cemetery, York. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
