Ivy O. Thomas was born July 30, 1920 in Moroni, Utah to Isaac and Vernie Christensen Olsen. She passed away December 27, 2002.

She grew up in Moroni, Utah, attended Moroni schools and graduated from Moroni High School. "Jo" owned and operated her own beauty salon in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She later moved to Salt Lake City where she operated her own business for several years. She later left her business and was employed by Cudahy packing company and MacFarlane meats.

She married Ralph S. Thomas September 4, 1954 in Elko, Nevada. Following her marriage, "Jo" moved to Park City, Utah where she was employed by Kidder Grocery Co. Following a move back to Salt Lake City, "Jo" adopted and raised two wonderful children, Jeff and Becky Jo. "Jo" enjoyed her house and crafts, especially making quilts for wedding gifts.

Ivy "Jo" is survived by her husband Ralph; children, Jeff, Becky; grandchildren, Brandon, Kiara, Jessica, Justin, Kamie; and sisters, Elsie, Nida, Velda. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernest, Sherman, and four sisters, Naomi, Ella, Ruby and Moniel.

Services will be Friday, January 3, 11 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 S. Bengal Boulevard (7800 S). Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Mortuary and one hour prior to services.
