MARIETTA -- Graham Henry Campbell, a long-time Love County resident, died Saturday, June 10, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Marietta Church of Christ where Mr. Campbell was a member. Travis Huffman and Gary Labeth will officiate. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors as a tribute to his World War II service.

The family will receive friends at Watts-Flanagan Funeral Home from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday.

Born to the late Isom E. and Vina Victoria Tudor Campbell on July 17, 1924, at Grady, Okla., he married Ledgia Mae Rose on Nov. 21, 1945, at Springfield, Mo. She survives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Willie and Alma Campbell.

Mr. Campbell has lived in Marietta two years, moving from Enville. During his military career, Campbell was a staff sergeant, serving from June 1943 until November 1945 in Normandy, Rhineland, northern France and central Europe. His decorations included the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon and four Bronze Stars.

He was a long-time American Legion member and avid sports fan, coaching Little League ball several years. He and Mrs. Campbell were honored as Love County Frontier Days King and Queen in 2001. Campbell worked 20 years at Love County Lumber Co. and retired from Uniroyal after eight years as a forklift operator.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sherry Campbell, Marietta; three daughters and a son-in-law, Julia and Ted Thrasher, Olathe, Kan., Vicki Hays, Norman, and Sandra Campbell, Torrance, Calif.

Also, three brothers, Holley, Overbrook, Wayne, Pauls Valley, and Jack Campbell, Enville; two sisters, Ruby Stanley, Greenville, and Verna McNeely, Enville, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Grandsons Casey Campbell, Derek Hays, Hayden Manuel, Trent Thrasher, Scott Bowden and Joe Steen will be bearers. Honorary escorts will be Marshall Vinson, Frank and Fred McKay, Lawrence Anderson, Billy Harris, Bob Sharp, Rayford Hallum and men of the Marietta and Lebanon churches of Christ.

Service arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
