James Franklin Clements was born in 1849 in Alabama, to his parents Jesse and Lupina Pynes Clements. He later married Missourie Emma Boggs on July 28, 1888, in Miller County, Arkansas. They raised a large family. He died about 1902 and is thought to be buried on the old homeplace there in Coleman County in a family cemetery.
** Note: There was another son of James and Missouri. He was George Henry Clements who was born April 16, 1895 in Coleman County, Tex. He later married Lithia Stalcup about 1915. Together they had 3 sons. She died not long after the birth of her last child. The boys were raised by some of the mother's relatives. It is unclear when George Clements died but he is not mentioned in his syblings' obits.
