New Carlisle---Mrs. Rhoda Crist Hoke, 74, of 317 S. Scott st., New Carlisle, died in her residence at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday. Her death was unexpected, although she had been in failing health.
She was born July 3, 1892, in Pike Township in Clark County, a daughter of Ephraim and Elizabeth Ulery Crist.
She was a member of the New Carlisle United Missionary Church. Mr. and Mrs. Hoke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Dec. 25, 1962.
Survivors include her husband, Jeremiah (Jerry); three sons, Walter M. of Piqua, Joseph D. of South Vienna and Merle C. of Newark, O.; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Roberta) Artz of New Carlisle, Mrs. Carlon (Christina) Kress of Springfield and Mrs. Arvid (Barbara) Stanfill of New Carlisle; one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Dickson of Denver, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Missionary Church with the Rev. Jesse Seeker, pastor of the church, officiating. Friends may call at the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home, New Carlisle, from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at the church from noon Friday until time of services. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
Friends may make contributions to the Memorial Missionary Fund of the United Missionary Society.
