Roscoe Lenear Hester, 73, Alto, died Friday in a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 19, 1917, in Cook County and was a longtime Alto resident. He was a retired fire warden for International Paper Co. and a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of Alto Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Odell Hester, Alto, one son and daughter-in-law, on daughter and son-in-law, one brother, four sisters, and two grandsons.
