Coldwater Chronicle - November 29, 1968

Alex A. Clune, 67, Burkettsville, was dead on arrival at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Coldwater, Friday at 4:30 a.m. He had been ailing with a heart condition for a number of years and death was attributed to an apparent heart attack. The deceased was born March 11, 1901 in Burkettsville, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard (Josephine) Clune. He was married to the former Eleanora Neargarder, at North Star, April 1, 1929 and she survives with five children, Miss Anna Mae Clune, at home; Lewis, St, Henry; Mrs. Victor (Rose) Mary) Moeder, St. Henry route 1, Paul L. Clune, Coldwater and Mrs. Donald (Madonna) Bowerman, Minster; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Keller, Sharpsburg; Mrs. Rose Schwieterman, St. Sebastian; Mrs. Leo (Flora) Tumbush, Celina, and Mrs. Fred (Christine) Winhoven, Dayton; one brother Albert Clune, Dayton, and 18 grandchildren. Mr. Clune was employed by the New York Central Railroad until 11 years ago when he retired due to the heart condition. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic church, Burkettsville, and the Holy Name Society of the church. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Burkettsville church with the Rev. Erasmus Gengler officiating and burial was made in the church cemetery.
