Catherine J. T. 'Hazentine' Blackburn was born January 1850 by the town of Churchton in Dyer County, Tennesse. She was a young child when her mother died and, shortly after, her father moved the family once again close to the town of Ranger, in Yell County, Arkansas, where he purchased a farm along the Petit Jean River.
Hazentine's siblings were Lucinda 'Rebecca' Jane and William H. Blackburn. Rebecca married Robert Oden Humphries and, after his death, she married William 'Carson' Campbell. William married Marilda Jane Thomas and, after less than one year, he was killed during he Civil War.
Hazentine married John Herman Campbell on June 17, 1869 in Yell County. They had one son William 'Willie' Edward Campbell on June 6, 1871. Hazentine died in 1872 and, although a gravestone does not mark her burial site, it is assumed she was laid to rest in the Dacus Cemetery.
After Hazentine's death, John Herman Campbell married widow Martha J. Scott and they continued to live in Yell County. John Herman died about 1930 and is laid to rest in the Dacus Cemetery.
