Mrs. Jonnie Akins Wynn, 88, entered into rest Saturday September 10, 2016 at Anchor Rehab, Aiken, SC.
She was the beloved wife of Mr. James Vernon Wynn and a daughter of the late Mr. Horace Akins and the late Mrs. Beatrice Nesmith Akins.
Mrs. Wynn as a born in Bulloch, GA, and had made Aiken County her home for the past 55 years. She was an active member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church, New Ellenton where she was also a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wynn attended Business College in Savannah, GA and was previously employed by the Savannah River Plant as a secretary. Mrs. Wynn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who possessed an unwavering faith in God. She loved to read, and enjoyed planting flowers, crocheting, and doing crafts. Her Great-grandchildren brought much joy to her later life.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Wanda and her husband Ralph Redd, Aiken, Sandra and her husband Lee Josey, Aiken, Ronda Jett, New Ellenton; one brother, Ronald Akins, Belchertown, MA; four sisters, Christine Birley, East Moline, ILL, Sally Deal, Statesboro, GA, Barbara McNure, Metter, GA, and Bobbi Respess, Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Stephanie Jolly Heggoy (Eric), Angela Josey, Andrew Josey, Lisa Smith (Warren), Tony Redd; four great grandchildren, Max, Emma, Britany, Chase, and number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wynn was also predeceased by six brothers, Leffler, Lee, Lavern, Dedrick, Benjamin, and Heyward Akins, her son-in-law, Tommy Jett.
Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
