A native of Savannah, GA, James was a son of the late James Ivy and Nannie Ackerman Wynn.
He moved to New Ellenton in the early 1950's to work as a power operator at the Savannah River Plant. He retired in 1986 with 35 years of service. Mr. Wynn was a long-time faithful member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and attended the Berea Pals Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and an occasional round of golf. He especially loved riding his bicycle which he did until the age of 93.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Redd (Ralph), Aiken, Sandra Josey (Lee), Aiken, Rhonda Jett, New Ellenton; five grandchildren, Stephanie Jolly Heggoy (Eric), Atlanta, GA, Angela Josey, Andrew Josey and Brittany Jones, all of Aiken, Chase Redd, Gainesville, FL; two great-grandchildren, Max Cullipher, Emma Heggoy; a sister, Sue Wood, Brooklet, GA.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wynn and son-in-law, Thomas Jett.
Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
