Edward H Coon - Funeral services for Edward H. Coon, Sr, 88, of Sharon Lane, who died Nov. 11 at the Waterbury Extended Care Facility after a long illness, were held Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Hickcox-Mitchell Funeral Home, 195 Main St., with the Rev. William Zito, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was In Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Coon was born Nov. 3, 1888, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Robert and Alison (Davidson) Coon. He had been a resident of Waterbury for the past 58 years. A Mason contractor, he was owner and operator of the E. H. Coon Co., Depot St., from 1918 to 1958. Mr. Coon was a member of the First Congregational Church, a 50-year member of Federal Lodge, Masons, a 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Waterbury and the Lafayette Consistory of Bridgeport, and a member of the Shrine.

Survivors include two sons, Edward H. Coon, Jr., and Charles H. Coon, both of Watertown; two daughters, Mrs. George C. Touponse, Sr., and Mrs. Gordon B. Palmer, Watertown; two brothers, Charles W. Coon and Louis G. Coon, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., 16 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
