Orville T. Wheeler, 86

Orville Trenton Wheeler, 86, of Mount Solon, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Wheeler was born in the Briery Branch Community on Aug. 11, 1919, and was a son of the late Jacob and Sadie (Howdyshell) Wheeler.
He was a retired welder at Westinghouse/ McQuay in Verona.
He was a member of Briery Branch Church of the Brethren, and he served in the U.S. Army in WWII, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Hughes-Collins VFW Post No. 3136, Mount Solon.
He was united in marriage on June 13, 1941, to Evelyn (Michael) Wheeler, who survives.
He is survived by three sons and their spouses, Carroll and his wife, Shirley Wheeler, of Staunton, Dee and his wife, Carol Wheeler, of Waynesboro, Garry and his wife, Theresa Wheeler, of Max Meadow; three brothers, Clyde Wheeler of Harrisonburg, Richard Wheeler of Belair, Md., and Ray Wheeler of Dublin, Md. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Julie, Sherri, Tiffany, and Alan and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Molly, Raegan, Jacob and Madison.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Bridgewater, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, with the Rev. David Whitten officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Service, Bridgewater.
