Harold Henry Champlain, age 81, of Villa Ridge, Missouri, died Sunday, November 26, 2006. He was born in Meta on July 30, 1925, son of the late William and Eva (Barnhart) Champlain. On July 1, 1950, he was married to Goldie Mae Vaughan, who preceded him in death on May 13, 1992.

He received his education in the Meta area. He had been employed at Cupples Products as a welder. He retired from there in 1988 after working 35 years.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Champlain and wife, Debra of Bland, and Robert Champlain and wife, Laurie of Villa Ridge; one daughter, Brenda Ameiss and husband, Gary of Villa Ridge; six grandchildren, Robert Champlain, Lydia Champlain, Amanda Gatzemeyer, Joel Ameiss, Wade Ameiss, Lila Ameiss; one great-grandson, Peyton Chambers; and nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, Missouri, and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Services followed at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Manuel Seaton officiating. Interment was in Southside Cemetery near Meta.
