Ida Pearl Prater, 90, of Sullivan, formerly of Meta, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Dec. 20, 1908, in Meta to William and Eva Barnhart Champlain. On Jan. 26, 1928, she was married in Vienna to Leonard Francis Prater, who died Dec. 26, 1988.

Mrs. Prater was a member of the Meta Christian Church in Meta.

Surviving her are two sons, Darwin Prater of Sullivan and Robert Prater of Tulsa, Okla.; three brothers, Roe Champlain of Pond, Leonard Champlain of Meta and Harold Champlain of Villa Ridge; a sister, Geneva Crane of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

One daughter, Doris P. Stuckenschneider died Dec. 19, 1984.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with the Rev. Manuel Seaton officiating. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
