Philip F. Brothers, 86, died July 24 at his home after a long battle with dementia. He is now with his beloved Vera who passed just two months prior.

He was born January 19, 1930, the son of Frank and Agnes Brothers. Philip retired from IBM in 1990 and had many hobbies including fishing, running, and hunting.

A very honorable man whose integrity was well known to all he touched. Selfless, and helping others less fortunate than himself was important to him.

Philip served in the Marines for three years just after WWII.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Daily, and Debra Liberty. The son he never had, Tim Liberty. His grandchildren Rick Dion, and Krystle Daily. His great-grandchildren Justin, Maya, Brianna, and Kenna. Phil was predeceased by his wife Vera. He had many special nieces and nephews. A very special brother-in-law Francis Slowey whose support and friendship were invaluable.

Philip was predeceased by his parents, wife Vera Irene (Forrest) Brothers, his only brother, Robert, and all of his sisters, Joyce, Joan, Elizabeth.

Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Chittenden County.
