Elizabeth "Betty-Ann" Slowey, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side after a long illness on Monday, September 7, 2015.

Born in Burlington, Vermont on August 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Frank Brothers and Agnes Dickenson, Elizabeth was a graduate of Burlington High School in Burlington, Vermont.

She retired from Litton Veam in Watertown, CT in 1998 to stay home and help raise her first grandchild and did that for seven years with devoted love and care. Elizabeth loved cooking and loved spending time with her husband, three children and their perspective husband and wife and her three grandchildren.

She enjoyed numerous family vacations on Cape Cod and at her West Palm Beach home and many cherished holidays with her family over the years. She enjoyed arts and crafts particularly ceramics leaving many of her works of art for her family. She taught CCD classes at St. Mary's church in Longmeadow, MA and belonged to the Prayer shaw group at Sacred heart Church in Bloomfield, CT. She was a member of Red Hats in West Palm Beach.

Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband Frank Slowey; two sons, Michael Slowey and James Slowey and his wife Linda; a daughter Sondra Malicki and her husband, Barry. She also leaves a brother, Philip Brothers his wife Vera; her sisters and brother-in-law Mona and John Driggs of Trumbull, CT and Mary Fox of Carey, NC; three cherished grandchildren, Joshua Hilditch, James Slowey and Corey Malicki and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, Robert Brothers, and two sisters, Joyce Applegate and Joan Giroux.

A very special thank-you to Lavern Skipper, who took such extraordinary care of Elizabeth and stood by Elizabeth's husband, Frank, daily in her final months. Laverne epitomized what compassionate tender loving care was meant to be. We also would like to thank Hospice and all the nurses that provided such loving and excellent care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Monday, September 14 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave Bloomfield, CT followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13 from 2 PM to 5 PM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor, CT.
