While working in his potato patch on Tuesday at 9:00, William Crawford Donaldson, widely known farmer and lumberman of Hamiltonban township, was stricken with a stroke of apoplexy from which he died an hour later.
Mr. Donaldson, apparently in his usual health, was at work in his potato field when he was stricken without warning. Members of the family carried him to the house and Drs. Albert Woomer and
Ira Henderson summoned. Their efforts to save his life were unsuccessful and he died at 10:30 at the Donaldson homestead between Fairfield and Orrtanna, where he was born and raised.
He is survived by his wife and these sons and daughters; James S, near Orrtanna; Frank, Orrtanna; Sidney C., near Fairfield; Miss Clara M, Philadelphia; William, Kenneth, Nicholas, Fanny, Carrie and Mary, at home; two sisters, Mrs. George Minter, Arendtsville and Miss Margaret Donaldson, Hamiltonban township.
Funeral services at the house at 1:30 Thursday afternoon, Rev. D.W. Woods officiating. Interment in the Fairfield Cemetery.
