RUSSELL, JOHN M. SR., 84, of Lyndon, died peacefully at Meadowview Health & Rehab on Monday, January 2, 2006.

He was born on April 2, 1921, and later served the US Navy during World War II as a signalman aboard the destroyer USS Montgomery. He worked for over fifty years as a real estate broker in the state of Kentucky and was a member of Epiphany Church in Anchorage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Russell; a grandson, John R. Lage; and two brothers, James and Eugene Russell.

Survivors include his son, two daughters, two sisters, three brothers, three grandsons, and eight great-grand-children.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home, with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Louisville or Wayside Christian Mission.
