Joseph's middle name was suggested by descendants on the Turnipseed side of the family in 2005 to be "Parnell". So far there isn't any written proof.
On January 8, 2017 a U.S. Federal record for his son, William Sherman Harvey, was found. It was his Social Security application and on it he states that his fathers middle name was "Pilham". Joseph P. Harvey always signed his name as so, Joseph P. Harvey. The way William writes on the application he was probably even known by that name of Pilham. Many in the family have been referred to by their middle names. Even William Sherman was known as Sherm.
To all those who have been using this as a reference I make an apology for this name change. I have to go by what the son wrote and not hear say now. I guess the man's history continues a hundred forty years after he died.
In 1967 Minnie Turnipseed wrote down that Joseph was buried in the Pretty Prairie Cemetery northeast of Battleground, IN. The family is found living there on the 1870 census. Around 1874 it appears that after Joseph's death the family moved to Sitka, White County, IN.
One last thing is that John Pollard Harvey's son was known as Joseph P. Harvey Jr. That was another common occurrence back than that a nephew could be known as a Junior.
