QUINCY AND MT. STERLING

Notes of Some of the Visitors to the Fair.

(Mt. Sterling Democrat-Message.)

While the Quincy excursion train was waiting at the depot Thursday evening, Cora, the 4-year-old daughter of Mrs. Stephen J. Altmix, 910 Jersey street, had her hand bruised by a falling window. Dr. Parker, the Wabash local physician, was telephoned for and dressed the injury, which is not serious.

__________

The Quincy Daily Herald carried an obituary for Mrs. Cora (Altmix) Weiss, in its Saturday, 28 November 1925 edition, on page 10.

Since that is within copyright years, I will write a new obituary from the original, here:

___________

Cora Altmix, the daughter of Stephen and Rosa (Whalen) Altmix, was born in Quincy, Illinois on 24 October 1896. She lived in Quincy her entire life, other than 6 years in Detroit Michigan and the last 18 months of her life spent in Denver Colorado.

Cora married Oscar Weiss. Their children were Howard and Lois.

Aside from her husband and children, Mrs. Weiss left to mourn her, her siblings: Frank, Richard, and Miss Virginia Altmix, all residing in Quincy, Illinois.

She died in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday, 28 November, 1925.

Additional: A funeral notice mentioned that "Mrs. Weis" was "affiliated with the Royal Neighbors." It also said that her funeral was held from the home of her parents in law, Mr and Mrs. William Olson, at 637 Payson Ave. in Quincy, Illinois. Said funeral notice was printed in the Quincy Daily Herald on 29 Nov. 1925.
