NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Lola L. McBride, age 83 of the Mudfork community of North Tazewell, VA passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN with her family by her side.
Born March 12, 1933 in Russell County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Jonah and Nora Myrtle Pinion Ball.
On December 27, 1951 she married the love of her life, Raymond Franklin McBride who passed away December 3, 2002.
She was a member of Brown's Chapel United Methodist Church for over 64 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin McBride; three brothers, Garland, Harold, and Herman Ball; four sisters, Dorothy Meadows, Laura Gay Brooks, Anna Ruth McGuire, and Rose Marie Boyd. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, the Reverend Gordon McBride and wife, Peggy of Gate City, VA; daughter, Marilyn Creasy and husband, Doug of North Tazewell, VA; grandson, Justin Creasy of North Tazewell, VA; granddaughter, Amy Creasy Canning and husband, Jayson of Galax, VA; the light of her life, great granddaughter, Nora Beth Canning of Galax, VA; brother in law, Bernard Brooks of North Tazewell, VA; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, July 8, 2016 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Neil Hammons, Pastor John Canning; and the Reverend Ted Anders officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers are Greg McBride, Marvin McBride, Steve McBride, Michael McBride, Scotty McBride, Mark Angles, and Matthew Irvin.
Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Brooks, Stanley McBride, Tom Alley, and Curtis Neel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 7, 2016.
