Anna Ruth Ball McGuire, 70, of the Wysor Valley section of Honaker, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home.
Born January 12, 1940 in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Jonah and Nora Pinion Ball. A lifelong resident of the Russell and Tazewell County areas, she was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church at Jewell Ridge and was formerly employed by Honaker Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Rene Richie and Angela Baker; one grandson, Cody Breeding; one sister, Dorothy Meadows; and three brothers, Herman, Harold and Garland Ball.
She is survived by her husband, Kelley McGuire; two daughters, Tammy Richie of Ocala, FL and Brandi Gilbert of Bluefield, VA; three sisters, Laura Gay Brooks and Lola McBride, both of Stoney Ridge and Marie Boyd of Big A Mountain; one granddaughter, Peyton Gilbert; five grandsons, Nicodemus Gilbert, Gideon Gilbert, Travis Breeding, Jonah Richie and Derrek Baker; two special friends and caregivers, Mary Griffith and Chasity McGlothlin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Honaker with Elders Ezra Davis, Jr. and Farley Beavers officiating. Interment followed in Pinion Cemetery at Swords Creek.
Pallbearers were Wallace Case, Eric Pruitt, Brian Nidiffer, Josh Hale, Perry Allison, Jr., Brian Allison, Dennis Patterson and George McGuire.
