OBITUARY - newspaper unknown. Alfred W. Loy, 71, of Greenfield, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 1979, at Norris Hospital in Jacksonville after a six-week illness.

A retired farmer, he was born in Jersey County July 7, 1908, son of John & Alice (Frank) Loy. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Jerseyville. He married the former Venia Reno April 12, 1930, and she died Oct. 13, 1967.

Surviving in addition to his mother are six daughter, Marilyn Loy, Linda Springman, Karen Loy, Loretta Slightom, Anna Mae Roberts, and Alice King; three sons, Thurman, Frank, and Robert; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Paschia Huff and Faye Short; four brothers, Melvin, Theron F., Nelson, and John Loy.

Visitation was Monday at Shields Memorial Home in Greenfield where services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. with interment in Kane Cemetery at Kane. Memorials to the Cancer Fund or Heart Fund in Alfred Loy's name were suggested by the family.
