Val Jean Campbell, 95, of Buffalo Twp., passed away on Sunday, July 3rd, while in the company of family members, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Val Jean was born in Natrona Heights, on June 20, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Ella (Carney) and Harry A. Ross.
She was the widow of Ernest P. Campbell, Sr. who passed in 2006.
She was a wonderful mother and homemaker who enjoyed quilting, helping the older members of her community. In her younger years, she loved motorcycling across the United States with her husband and even into parts of Canada.
She was past member of the Sarver Wesleyan Methodist Church in Sarver where she was a member of the Woman's prayer group, Sunday school teacher and a past Missionary President.
She is a current member of the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church where she participated in many activates.
Val Jean is survived by her son, Ernest P.(Ruth Ann) Campbell, Jr., of Cabot and her daughter, Jeanne Ann (Jack) Osche, of Buffalo Twp. Val Jean is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Lynn Campbell and her 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Family and friends will be received on Friday July 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport.
Visitation will continue on Saturday July 9th from 10 am until services at 11 am at the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church, 590 Protzman Rd, in Butler with the Rev, James Lynn and the Rev. Paul Fish, officiating.
Burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
