Mrs. Charles E. Baumann, 78, of 949 Twenty-first avenue, Rock Island, lifelong resident of the city, died at 10:45 this morning in her home followina an extended illness.
Miss Alvena Heittman (sic) was born March 6 1864, in Rock Island and was married to Charles Baumann Feb. 21, 1883. She was a member of the Evangelical Church of Peace, Royal Neighbors of America, Tri-City Golden Wedding club and Plattdutache Schwestern.
Surviving are the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur E. Heckert of Rock Island and Mrs. Hart Shield of Muscatine, Ia.; two sons, Carl F. and John F. Baumann, both of Rock Island; and a brother, William Heidemann (sic) of Milan. The body was taken to Hodgson funeral home.
