He was born in Rock Island, Sept. 11, 1860, and attended schools there. His parents were Ferdinand and Elizabeth Baumann, pioneer residents of Rock Island.
He married Alvena Heitman in Rock Island, Feb. 21, 1883. Mr. Baumann was employed for many years at the old Rock Island Stove Co.
Mr. Baumann was a member of the Golden Wedding club.
Funeral services will be held at 1 Wednesday afternoon in the Hodgson funeral home. The Rev. Fred J. Rolf of the Church of Peace will officiate and burial will be in Chippiannock cemetery.

Charles Baumann, 949 Twenty-first avenue, Rock Island, will be 89 years old Sunday. No celebration is planned but friends are invited to call during the afternoon and evening.
Mr. Baumann is a native of Rock Island and was employed as a stove mounter at the former Rock Island Stove company before his retirement 22 years ago.
The celebrant has two sons, John and Carl, both of Rock Island, and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur E. Heckert, with whom he resides and Mrs. A. Mart Shield, Muscatine. There are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
