Evelyn Myers Thomas, 97, widow of Amon Thomas of Orangeburg, SC, passed away, Wednesday, March 29, 2017.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Dukes Harley Funeral Home & Crematory.

Evelyn was born July 3, 1919, in Dorange, SC, to the late Fredrick Myers and the late Bessie Cook Myers.She graduated from Branchville High School and Rice Business College of Charleston, SC. She worked for the Charleston Shipyard during WWII and was co-owner of The Economy Auto Store. Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, where she was a Golden Singer and a member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy T. Judy of Orangeburg, SC and Gayle T. Hooper (Mardy) of Cope, SC; three grandchildren, William Rast (Suzanne), Kristen Judy and Karen McAlhaney (Eddie); six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Hutto McCollum of Reevesville, SC and Delores Rowell (Bobby) of Merritt Island, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, 1240 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
