Mr. Myers was born in Branchville, the son of the late James Frederick and Bessie Cook Myers.
He graduated from Branchville High School. After serving in WWII, Mr. Myers was the owner and operator of Myers Gulf, Myers Wrecker Service, Myers Service Center, and Carolina Cab Co. for over 60 years.
Mr. Myers was one of the first members of the American Legion Post 4 baseball team, a member of the American Legion, a Shriner, and attended Grace Baptist Church. He was an avid University of South Carolina baseball fan. He also enjoyed working in his garden.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Marie Myers and two brothers and one sister and surviving are his dedicated wife of fifty years, Mary Rose Ruple Myers; three daughters, Mary Jo McDonald (Spencer) of Orangeburg, Linda Myers Hentz and fiance, John Price of Prosperity, SC, Kathy Renee Myers of Columbia; three grandchildren, Ragan McDonald, Mary Brooks McDonald, and Graham McDonald all of Orangeburg; three sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Orangeburg, Inez McCollum of Reevesville, SC, and Delores Rowell (Bobby) of Merritt Island, Florida.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
