D. B. Everhart Passes Away at Age of 74 Years

He had Been a Resident of Lohrville Since 1883

Funeral Services Friday

D. B. Everhart, an aged and respected citizen of this community for many years, passed away Wednesday of last week, at the age of 74 years.

Daniel Boone Everhart was born at Blairstown, Pennsylvania, July 12, 1851 and died November 25, 1925. At the age of 13 he came to Iowa with his parents, settling near Davenport.

On the 25th day of January 1881 he was united in marriage to Jennie Elizabeth Robeson at Summit, Iowa and they settled in Mahaska County.

In 1883, they moved to Lohrville, Iowa where on March 27, 1894 his wife, Jennie, died. To this union were born six children, four of whom have predeceased their father in death. Annie Hicks and G.W. Everhart, both of Lohrville, remain.

On the 10th day of October, 1894 he was united in marriage to Mary Dopp at Glasco, Kansas, coming to Lohrville, where they resided until 1911 when they moved to Glendive, Montana where they homesteaded until 1918 when they returned to Lohrville, where he made his home with the exception of 2 years when he stayed at the home of his daughter, Edith of Miles City, Montana, later returning to Lohrville where he entered the county hospital where he died.

To this union were born 4 children, one daughter, Fern, dying in infancy, leaving Cary of White Fish, Montana, Mrs. Edith Bensel of Miles City, Montana, and Verle of Lohrville of this family with his wife, one brother and 22 grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon, November 27, Rev. Ernest Hoon officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery.
