Anne moved to Ringebu Parish, Oppland County (by modern travel times, about an hour south), where she worked for her sister Imbjør, who had married and settled on the Mæhlumssveen farm. Anne married Ole Larsen 21 Nov 1887 at the Ringebu stave church, and they settled on a farm called Rottåshagen (61.49002 10.14280), the name they used when they went through Ellis Island, in June 1893. Immediately after settling in the U.S., near Rothsay, Minnesota, they shortened their name to Hagen.
Ole and Anne lived in Tanberg Township, Wilkin County, near Rothsay from 1893 to 1903, and then moved to Divide County, ND, near Noonan. They had eight children, two of whom died in infancy and are buried in Rothsay.
None of Anne's siblings emigrated, but, in 1928, Anne's nephew Thorvald Mosebakken (later Thor Hansen) came from Norway and stayed with the Hagens for at least two years.
Anne had red hair and light eyes, probably blue. Her mitochondrial haplogroup was H13a1a.
